Security updates are all the rage, lately. Following new security updates from Apple, Google has also issued new security patches for vulnerabilities affecting its Pixel line of smartphones.

The company released this new update on Monday, April 4, to most of the Pixel lineup. The only Pixel phones not covered under this new update are the original Pixel and Pixel XL, the Pixel 2 and 2XL, and the Pixel 3. All the rest, including, Pixel 3a, Pixel 4, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, and Pixel 6 Pro, should be updated as soon as possible.

The new security update includes patches for 44 vulnerabilities: nine of these vulnerabilities are rated “critical,” while the rest are rated “high,” indicating these issues aren’t to be ignored. “Critical” issues concern Qualcomm components in the Pixel devices, while “high” issues range from local privilege escalation to remote information disclosure.
