If you use an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you should update it as soon as possible. Apple released new security updates for these devices on Thursday, March 31, which came as part of iOS 15.4.1 (iPhone), iPadOS 15.4.1 (iPad), and macOS 12.3.1 (Mac).
According to Apple, there are two vulnerabilities patched here. One of these vulnerabilities, identified as CVE-2022-22675, affects iPhones, iPads, and Macs. It allows hackers to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges in an application, effectively allowing them to run whatever code they want to. The other vulnerability, identified as CVE-2022-22675, only affects Macs: Apple discovered a flaw with Intel graphics drivers, potentially allowing an application to read kernel memory.
Apple acknowledges reports that these vulnerabilities may have been exploited in the wild, emphasizing the importance of installing these updates as soon as possible.
As per usual, Apple did not advertise the security side of these updates. Rather, the company choose to highlight the bug fixes each include, such as fixing a battery drain issue on iPhone and iPad, or a Bluetooth controller bug on macOS.
If you haven’t yet installed these updates on your Apple devices, do so as soon as possible.
