If you use an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you likely rely on Safari for your web browsing. If your device isn’t fully up to date, however, you might be placing your browsing, and the personal data that comes from it, in jeopardy.

Apple recently released updates for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. These updates, iOS 15.3.1 (iPhone), iPadOS 15.3.1 (iPad), and macOS 12.2.1 (Mac), appear minor, without many surface-level features or changes. One big addition in each, however, is a security patch aimed at Safari.

Apple discovered a security flaw in Safari which could allow bad actors to take advantage of arbitrary code execution on your system, which would let these hackers run malicious software on your device. This new update patches this flaw, making it an important update to install as soon as possible.

To do so on iPhone and iPad, head to Settings > General > Software Update. On Mac, go to System Preferences > Software Update. From here, see if you have the latest update available to install. If so, follow the on-screen instructions to do so.
