How Graphus Helps MERIT Protect Our Customers

This spring, MERIT Solutions rolled out Graphus to our users. Graphus is an AI-powered phishing defense platform that protects your business from cyberattacks, specifically those that target victims via email. Here’s how it works.

Graphus uses AI to block cyberattacks from both known threats, as well as zero-day vulnerabilities. Graphus says their systems block ransomware, business email compromise (BEC), account takeover (ATO), identity spoofing, credential theft, hidden attachments, and malicious URLs. It blocks these types of cyberattacks all before they reach your inbox. If the service does its job, you’ll never need to come into contact with phishing messages—though you should always be on high alert when opening messages from senders you don’t know.

When Graphus does detect a potentially malicious message, it quarantines it, then alerts MERIT about the email. The service generates reports about MERIT’s email security, risk levels, and the types of attacks Graphus has blocked since we deployed it.

Graphus also uses something called EmployeeShield, an email banner that explains why a particular message might be a threat. If you think Graphus got it right, you’ll be able to report the message as a phishing attempt, and send it to your own personal spam filter. If you know for sure the message is safe, you can mark it as such, but be sure it isn’t a clever phishing attempt before you do. You can also tap into Phish911 to alert specific messages for IT to later investigate.
